Abhyax ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of our users ("you" or "user"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Abhyax mobile application (the "App").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using Abhyax, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide, personalize, and improve your flashcard learning and focus experience.

A. Information You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: When you sign up or log in (via Supabase Auth or Google Sign-In), we may collect your email address, display name, and profile picture.
  • User-Generated Content: Flashcard decks, cards, notes, study goals, and custom CSV imports created or uploaded by you inside the App.

B. Automatically Collected Information

  • Study & Progress Data: Daily study streaks, card review scores, completion rates, and leaderboard points.
  • App Usage & Blocking Data (Focus Lock Feature): If you use the Focus/App Lock feature, the App monitors app launch events on your device solely to enforce your designated study focus timers and block selected apps. We do not track, collect, or record your activity inside other applications.
  • Device & Technical Data: Device model, operating system version, app version, unique device identifiers, and basic crash/performance telemetry required for app stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Core Functionality: To manage your account and sync your flashcard decks and study progress across devices via our secure Supabase backend.
  • Gamification & Leaderboard: To display your daily study streaks, study duration, and leaderboard rank relative to other users.
  • Focus & App Locking: To restrict access to user-selected distracting applications during active study sessions.
  • App Improvement & Security: To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, optimize performance, and prevent fraudulent activity.

3. Data Storage & Security

  • Local Storage: Your flashcard decks, study state, and app settings are stored locally on your device using an encrypted local SQLite database.
  • Cloud Storage & Encryption: Cloud-synced data is hosted on secure Supabase infrastructure protected with HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit and AES encryption at rest. Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure that only authorized users can access their private data.

4. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties or advertising networks. We only share data with service providers necessary to operate the App:

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your personal data only as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the App's services.

  • Deleting Your Data: You can request the full deletion of your account, profile, and synced study data at any time by navigating to Profile → Account Settings → Delete Account inside the App, or by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon request, all your stored cloud data will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Abhyax is intended for students and general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information immediately.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
